This exciting series of educational opportunities provides basic topics throughout the year. Sessions are online using Zoom meetings to allow for an interactive session for attendees, who will be able to ask questions and participate in the chat with other attendees and the instructor.

2025 Toolkit Series
The Basics of Bank Reconciliation - Thursday, October 30, 2025 (10:00 am to Noon, ET) This session will help you get a better understanding of bank reconciliations, why they’re important, and how you can solve - and excel - at this task. Includes a discussion of what bank reconciliations are, who should perform them, how you reconcile, tips for success, things to watch for, best practices, tools and resources, as well as demonstrations of reconciling and samples of reconciliations in BS&A (.net and cloud versions). Introduction to Budgeting - Thursday, November 20, 2025 (10:00 am to Noon, ET) This Toolkit provides incredible information on what every public treasurer should know about budgeting. Benefit from the years of experience our presenters bring to this topic - you'll learn about budgeting requirements, concepts, and best practices in their discussion. You’ll receive a walk-through of the budget process and the most important things to think about, including common tripping points, who to involve, and questions to ask to make your budget experience productive and successful. Treasury in a Year - Thursday, December 11, 2025 (10:00 am to Noon, ET) This incredibly popular session provides an overview of the biggest duties and due dates for a municipal treasurer. We’ll discuss how our responsibilities include audits, bank reconciliations, budgeting, cash handling, investments, property taxes, reporting, and everything else that seems to land on our desks. The team of presenters represent the city, county, and township viewpoint and will provide more information on how the property tax cycle affects us throughout the year. Topics are great introductions for newer treasury professionals but can also serve as a timely refresher for members who have been in their roles for awhile - we can always learn more! If you have your MiCPT, each session is worth one point of continuing education towards your renewal.
Single sessions of the Treasurer Toolkit cost $69 per session per attendee. The Toolkit Combo includes all three sessions for the year and costs $199. If you register for the Combo, you will receive an email prior to each session with the link - you do not need to register for each individual session.
All sessions will be recorded and available for viewing if you have a conflict or just want to re-watch a portion of the session. Recordings are available about one week after the session. Links are sent to everyone who registered for a session; if you need the link, contact our association managers at [email protected].
Note: if you are a MMTA member and would like to register additional attendees from your municipality who are not current MMTA members, select "register a guest" on the online registration form to add your coworkers. The non-member rate for Toolkit sessions is $99 per attendee or $297 for the Toolkit Combo, which includes all three sessions.
All sessions are interactive webinars from 10:00 am to Noon.
