President's Update

Dear MMTA Members,

As spring approaches, I want to extend my appreciation for your continued involvement in the Michigan Municipal Treasurers Association. Your dedication to professional excellence, ethical leadership, and collaboration with peers across the state makes our organization stronger each year.

As a reminder, several excellent professional development opportunities are right around the corner:

  • MMTA Basic Institute, April 27 – May 2, 2025 | Mt. Pleasant:   This foundational weeklong training is ideal for new treasury professionals or those looking to build a strong base in municipal finance practices. Learn more and register.
  • MMTA Advanced Institute, May 14 – 16, 2025 | Mt. Pleasant:   Designed for experienced professionals, this program dives deeper into advanced topics such as leadership, strategic planning, and public finance trends. Learn more and register.
  • APT US&C 2025 Annual Conference, July 20 – 23, 2025 | Oak Brook Hills Chicago Hilton Resort, Illinois | Livestream: July 21 – 23, 2025:  This year’s national conference, presented in partnership with the Illinois Municipal Treasurers Association (IMTA), offers the flexibility to attend either in person or virtually. The in-person event will be held at the Oak Brook Hills Chicago Hilton Resort. Virtual attendees can join via livestream or view recorded sessions after the conference. Michigan currently has the strongest presence at this national event, with 28 members already registered. We would love to see even more join us to demonstrate our state’s continued dedication to APT and the treasury profession. Learn more and register.

I encourage you to take advantage of these upcoming events to continue growing in your role and strengthening your network. Whether you are pursuing certification or simply looking for fresh ideas, these trainings provide excellent value and inspiration.
